Loopcloud 8.0.2
Inspire: Auto-creates fast new ideas when you want a starting point. Switch out samples, hold the parts you like and re-generate until you find something original and inspiring, then take the result into the loop editor and drag it out to your DAW. New templates arrive from our servers without an app update. Hold the session key with the padlock on the Key card, keep a track to newer or older sounds with its release date slider, and open a saved session by dropping it onto the Loopcloud window.
Listen: Loopcloud listens to your music and gives you a selection of sounds that will work harmonically with what you have created. Filter by genre or instrument to get new inspiration to help finish your track. Play into it from your DAW through the Loopcloud Listen plugin, or straight from the app. Your own samples are analysed on your machine too, so matches come from everything you own, not just the store. Harmonic matches on bass loops use a dedicated analysis that finds better-fitting sounds.
Intelligent Search: Describe what you're looking for in your own words, rather than relying on exact tags or keywords. Click the spark icon in the search bar on the Search home page and type a free-text search. You can rate the results without leaving the app.
5 new effects: Five brand new effects let you manipulate and experiment with audio before spending any credits, and the Loopcloud editor is fully functional with your own samples and sound library.
Gator: step sequencer with swing, tied runs and randomise
Looper: BPM-synced loop size, speed and direction, gate
Utility: gain, pan, width and mono bass
Chorus
Bitcrush: ADC/DAC quality modelling
1000 new Flip presets: We have doubled the library for this popular feature, to 2000 presets in total. Take any sound and re-imagine it with our handcrafted intelligent Flip presets, each designed to make a sound unique and give you new inspiration. Every template is crafted to work with a specific instrument or sound type, but try mixing and matching for even more great results.
MIDI update: Managing MIDI files has never been this exciting. Our team have been building preview instruments and drum kits for many genres, so you now get a real feeling for how these professionally crafted MIDI files could sound in your track. Eleven synth presets from Paul Willard cover bass, pluck, pad, string, brass, wind and organ sounds, and Auto picks one from each loop's tags until you choose one yourself.
Drum and Play: Five new effects in Drum give it lots more creative power, and Play can now import your own samples, which opens the engine up to far more flexibility, a request from many users. Whether you are auto-generating kits from our huge catalogue or creating new instruments from any sound in your collection, these two tools are better than ever.
Loopcloud Core: Downloading, syncing and sample analysis have moved into a separate background app with its own tray icon. The main window opens faster, and your library keeps working while you use the plugin in your DAW.
A new look: Loopcloud 8 brings a redesigned interface throughout, with new colour schemes, a rebuilt Preferences window and a new app icon. The Loopcloud Link plugin follows the same design and colour scheme.
Library: A search shows its results even when no folder is selected. Closing a tab leaves you on a search tab instead of jumping to Library. A library folder that fails to scan no longer marks your downloads as missing.
Loop editor: Transposing a vocal loop keeps the character of the voice, instead of making it sound chipmunk-like when shifted up or muffled when shifted down.
Workspaces: Save the tabs you have open and load them back later from the File menu.
Help: The help links throughout the app open the current support articles.
macOS: Loopcloud 8 runs on macOS 10.13 and later. On macOS 10.13 and 10.14, some intelligent search features are limited, and Loopcloud tells you which ones when it first starts.
7.5.23
Library view: Retain search order when changing folder.
Windows DLL issue: Fix: corrected issue where background analysis process could not find DLLs on some users' machines.
Collections: Fix: dragging multiple sounds into a collection now adds all selected items.
REX2 File Analysis: Now correctly analyzes REX2 files from your user content folders.
Serum 2 Presets: Downloaded to the correct location set in Preferences > Install Directories.
FL Studio Compatibility: Improved Loopcloud Link plugin compatibility with unusual time signatures in FL Studio.
Improved User Content Scanning: We've rebuilt the background analysis system that scans your samples. Corrupt audio files are managed so the rest of your library continues to scan normally. Problematic files are recorded in fileBlacklist.txt (located in %APPDATA%\Loopcloud on Windows or ~/Library/Application Support/Loopcloud on Mac) so they won't slow down future scans. You can remove entries from this file if you want to retry scanning specific files.
Faster Pack Loading: Large sample packs now load progressively, showing samples as they become available rather than waiting for everything to download first.
Library View Enhancements: Added more right-click menu options to the dual column library view including Add to Collection, Copy Name, and Refresh Download Status.
Numerous Stability Improvements: Fixed issues affecting audio preview and playback, MIDI preset selection, waveform display, sample editor operations, session loading, cloud storage and application startup and shutdown.
